Here's a song I overheard one of my Mom's kids singing.
"Deck the hall with gasoline, fa la la la la la la la la!
Light a match and make it gleam, fa la la la la la la la!
Watch the school burn down!"
...I worry about American youth sometimes. They can't even RHYME.

That's a little different from what we were singing when I was a kid:
ReplyDeleteJingle bells
Batman smells
Robin laid an egg
The Batmobile lost a wheel
And joker got away
;)
Lor
@R&L: That's because we had TASTE. ;)
ReplyDeletewe three kings of orient are
ReplyDeletetrying to smoke a rubber cigar
it was loaded, and exploded
something about a star...
I may have the last line wrong.
Dashing through the snow
ReplyDeleteOn a pair of broken skis
Over the hills we go
Bashing into trees
Ow ow ow
The snow is turning red
I think I'm almost dead
Oh what fun
It is to ride
On a pair of broken skis!
I recall that one from my youth, as well as the jingle bells, Batman smells
Lor, I was totally going to post that.
ReplyDeleteSInce it was you who stole the thunder right from under me, I will let it go.
Anywho, we sang so many songs when we were kids, or at least I did. There was one involving a teacher and a toilet.
...watch it go round and round...
it escapes me at the moment,
I'll get it eventually
@Penny: I am very interested in this "teacher/toilet" song. Please share.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could remember it, this is getting me a little bit frustrated, okay a lot a bit.
ReplyDelete@PL: D'aw! It will come.
